We offer a range of community services throughout Scotland, including support for families and other carers. Many of our services and fundraising activities rely on the contribution of volunteers whose donation of time is always much appreciated.
Almost everyone knows someone effected by Chest Heart or Stroke related illnesses. In fact Scotland has one of the highest rates of heart disease in the world, heart disease represents almost 20% of all deaths per year in Scotland. Stroke is the greatest cause of severe disability in Scotland and kills 3 times as many women a year than breast cancer and is not restricted to the elderly as is the common perception. Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease affects 90 thousand people in Scotland and The World Health Organisation estimates soon it will be the world’s third biggest killer.
If these aren’t reasons enough to join our runners and help fight for Scotland’s health, then do it for the challenge, do it for the novelty, do it for the respect, do it for yourself.
